About the Pack
Meeting Schedule
Pack 9090 meets about three times a month on Monday nights at 6:30 PM at EXPO (unless otherwise noted).
- Two of these meetings are den meetings, where we spend 30 minutes focused on a parent-led activity and 30 minutes in the gym playing games and burning off steam.
- One of these meetings is a special pack meeting like a fire station visit or service project, build and race event like raingutter regatta or pinewood derby, or a pack outing to a regional park or a place like Base Camp or Polar Cubs. These events sometimes fall on a weekend.
Family Participation
Pack 9090 is run entirely by parent/family volunteers. Families are expected to participate where they can, and we have volunteer opportunities that fit everyone’s skills:
- Den leaders: all families are asked to participate with their Scout during den meetings and to lead at least one 30-minute activity per year.
- Event volunteers: each pack event (e.g. raingutter regatta) needs volunteer leaders to help organize and run the event, or to assist with set up, tear down, or clean up.
- Talent sharing: If you have a special skill you’re willing to share, reach out to a committee member and we can brainstorm ways to incorporate it into our programming.
Uniforms & Books
All Scouts are encouraged to have a Cub Scout uniform and book, which can be purchased at the Base Camp Scout Shop in Bloomington or online. Secondhand options are also available.
Registration Cost & Pack Fees
All Cub Scouts and parent leaders register online.
- Youth registration for 2025-2026 costs $205, which covers a national membership fee, our local council’s operating costs, and insurance.
- Additionally, the pack asks for a yearly free-will donation from each family, which covers the cost of most pack activities for the school year, like kits to build a pinewood derby car, or food and snacks at special events.
These costs should not be a barrier to joining the Pack, though, and we’re committed to making Scouting available to all families. Visit goscouting.org/FIN-AID to apply for registration financial assistance, or connect with Pack leadership and we’ll make arrangements.
